Yorkshire Water signs ten-year power purchase deal with Shell

Yorkshire Water has entered into a ten-year power purchase agreement with Shell Energy Europe to buy renewable power generated by offshore wind farms: Thanet off the coast of Kent, and Dogger Bank off the north-east coast of England.

Shell Energy Europe, has offtake agreements with Dogger Bank and Thanet and will supply Yorkshire Water with some 16% of its electricity needs, from October 2023. The water company said 18% of its power is already generated by renewable sources, such as sludge.
