Yorkshire Water operating profit flat

Yorkshire Water reported operating profit for the year to 31 March 2024 unchanged from the previous year at just under £237m.


Profit before tax for the period tumbled to £99m after fair value movements on derivatives slid 91% to £72m.


Revenue was up 7.2% to £1.23bn with operating costs up more than 9% to £990m, including depreciation and amortisation at £375m up £35m on the previous year. Cost increases included an additional £13m for energy, £29m in repairs and maintenance and some £6m on staff costs. 


Capital expenditure for the year was up £150m to £685m.
