WICS to suspend retail licence applications until Market Health Check up and running
The Water Industry Commission for Scotland has proposed suspending the acceptance of new applications for any non household retail licence, including applications already in.
This is to allow time for processes relating to the new Market Health Check system to be put in place. The MHC process is intended to allow licensed providers to demonstrate that they operate within the letter and spirit of the licence. It is due to be in place within six months.
WICS said it would refund application fees, should any existing applicants wish to withdraw their applications. It is seeking views on the proposal until 6 July.
