Wessex Water launches its fourth year of grassroots community grants

Wessex Water Foundation, which provides grants for environmental and community work in the Wessex area, has issued its fourth year of awards to grassroots community projects.

Among the recipients of a total of £167,000 were community centres, youth clubs, social inclusion projects, charities and early intervention outreach organisations for communities in areas of deprivation.

The grants are delivered from the Foundation’s Community Fund, in partnership with community foundations in Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Bath and Bristol. Wessex Water said there had been a notable increase in the number of applications to the Community Fund in all areas.

The Wessex Water Foundation will reopen its Environment Fund to applications later this year.
