Welsh Water teams with Water Aid in Uganda to upgrade water supplies

Welsh Water has started a three-year partnership with Water Aid and the Eastern Umbrella of

Water and Sanitation to strengthen water supply schemes in Uganda.

The partnership will help transform three priority schemes that supply water to small towns in the Mbale region of the East African country. Its aim is to increase “inclusive, sustainable and universal access to water and sanitation hygiene” in Buyende, Namutumba and Namayingo in eastern Uganda.

The scheme’s launch comes as Welsh Water’s customers and colleagues have raised £11 million for WaterAid through its water bill insert campaign since its instigation in 1994.
