Welsh Water parent appoints new non executive director

Welsh Water parent, Glas Cymru, has appointed Jane Hanson as a non-executive director.

Hanson’s appointment, with effect from 1 January 2021, comes ahead of the planned July 2021 retirement of non-executive director and Audit Committee chair, John Warren.

Hanson (pictured) is currently a non executive director of Direct Line Insurance Group and William Hill and serves as a member of the Audit Committees of both companies. Her previous executive roles include director of Audit, and Risk and Governance director at Aviva. Chair of Glas Cymru, Alastair Lyons, said Hanson is “in a position to make a very significant contribution to Glas Cymru given her background in corporate governance and her experience of regulated industries.”

Hanson is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a magistrate.
