Welsh Water appoints engineering consultancy partners for AMP8
Welsh Water has appointed four consultants as Engineering Consultancy Services (ECS) partners to support the delivery of its largest ever investment in environmental enhancement and protecting the water supply for its three million customers.
The ECS Framework Agreement will run for an initial period of four years, with a four year optional extension at Welsh Water’s discretion.
Among the appointees, an AtkinsRéalis team, based in South Wales, will help identify the best options for the design and build of new assets, as well as mapping and modelling work for the treatment of waste water.
Meanwhile, Mott MacDonald will undertake work including data gathering, root cause analysis, modelling, solution evaluation, environmental assessments, feasibility and optioneering to identify optimal solutions to be taken forward into delivery.
If approved by Ofwat, Welsh Water’s investment programme will be worth £3.5bn over five years, a 68% increase on the investment between 2020 and 2025.
