Wave saves 10 million litres of water and beats its target a year early

Wave has reported reaching its five-year water saving target a year ahead of schedule.


According to its 2024-25 Social and Sustainability Promise report, Wave has supported its customers – including through its Active Water Management service – to save 10.47bn litres of water since October 2021.


Elsewhere, the report detailed other achievements, including: 

  • Saving 3.1m kg of carbon dioxide

  • Staff contributing 2,068 volunteering hours 

  • Replacing 259,975 paper bills with e-billing

  • Attaining an 82% employee engagement rate across the employee survey

  • Achieving gold for best CSR strategy and health and wellbeing at the UK Employee Experience Awards. 


During the year, revenue and profits rose, and 48 new joiners were recruited to the 320-strong team. Wave also moved its Peterborough office to a building with an energy-efficient heating and cooling system, passive infrared sensor lighting and zero gas consumption – saving 22 tonnes of CO2e and diverting 12 tonnes.
