Business water retailer Wave has introduced high consumption alerts (HCAs) for its small and medium-sized customers.
Wave will monitor meter read data submitted by customers as well as its meter readers, and alert all customers if there is around a 20% increase in consumption compared to their average read – though alert thresholds are tailored to the customers’ specific usage. The alerts will contain information about the business’ site and meter location, so that the high consumption or possible leak can be investigated as soon as possible.
Director of SME customers at Wave, Lissa Balmer, said: “As part of our Social and Sustainability promise, we’re committed to playing our part to address the water scarcity issue in the UK and following the launch of our Not a Drop to Waste campaign, being able to provide all of our customers with HCAs is a big step forward and an opportunity to really highlight potential water savings.”
