Waterwise invites everyone to turn off taps as Water Night comes to the UK

Waterwise is to bring Australia’s ‘Water Night’ to the UK.

Water Night is an annual campaign run by The Water Conservancy ( in Australia, which encourages people to turn non-essential taps off for one evening. The aim is to increase water awareness among participants, which could ultimately generate behaviour change to boost water efficiency. TWC has reported a 24% increase in water literacy and an 18% increase in water awareness amongst participants over the past three years.

The UK campaign will run between 5pm and 10pm on 19 October. Households can take part in Water Night by visiting https://www.waterwise.org.uk/waternightuk/
