Water Research Centre appoints new managing director

Water Research Centre (WRc) has appointed Andy Blackhall as its managing director, effective from 1 April 2021.

Blackhall (pictured) joined WRc in 2018, as head of asset management. He was later appointed commercial director. He succeeds Mark Smith, who will move to WRc’s parent company, RSK Group, as its business development director for water.

During his time at WRc, Blackhall has worked for the UK government as a water specialist for the Department of International Trade. He currently holds non-executive director positions at British Water and non-government organisation, Waterwise.
