Water Plus teams up with online platform Zellar to promote water and carbon saving

Water Plus has partnered with online sustainability platform Zellar to help businesses and other organisations to cut carbon and save water.

The Zellar platform helps organisations to calculate and understand their carbon emissions and then build an achievable plan to reduce emissions, based on their size and sector. Sustainability actions taken add up to a Zellar score, which those using the platform can share to showcase their efforts and positive impacts for the environment and communities. The platform includes easy actions for sites to take to save water, which can also save energy.

Businesses have access to a Water Saver Checker, designed by Water Plus on the Zellar platform, helping them take easy steps to make any water used go further. And Water Plus customers currently have access to the Zellar platform at a discounted price.

In its partnership work, Water Plus is providing free water saving visits and free water butts as prizes for schools, along with funding for the Zellar Green Schools competition, which offers a £1,000 prize to a primary and a secondary school for a green project. The retailer will also promote Zellar to its wider customer base.

Michele Marshall-Jackson, head of customer operations at Water Plus, said: “It’s all about making it easier for our customers to take actions to improve efficiencies and reduce carbon emissions. This partnership is one of the many actions we’re taking to help progress towards net zero and reducing impacts on the environment in the UK, including through increasing water efficiency.”
