United Utilities unveils modelling and design partners
United Utilities has named its 13 partners for two network modelling and specialist design and development frameworks for its AMP8 programme.
The water company has appointed AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs, Stantec, Binnies, Mott MacDonald, RPS, and WSP to deliver modelling support for water and wastewater infrastructure.
And it has named its six specialist design development partners as: Aqua Consultants, GHD, Long O Donnell Associates, Metis Consultants, Ove Arup & Partners and SYSTRA.
United Utilities said the framework requires the partners to “focus on translating solutions into practical and effective design outputs for detailed design and build, build only, and rainwater management projects.”
Capital delivery director at United Utilities, Jane Simpson, said the network modelling partners will inform its operations and capital investment programmes “by monitoring rivers, catchment land, and coastal infrastructure”. She highlighted the “natural solutions provided by our engineering teams and partners” and how the company will rely on its design partners to “develop future-proof, nature-based innovation, including rainwater management interventions.”
