United Utilities shortlists three consortia for aqueduct direct procurement scheme

United Utilities has shortlisted three consortia to continue to be considered for the position of Competitively Appointed Provider (CAP) to deliver its Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme (HARP). They are:

• HARP Community Connectors: comprising Acciona, Dragados and Iridium.

• More Water: comprising FCC Construcción, SNC-Lavalin, FCC Aqualia, Webuild and BeMo Tunnelling.

• Strabag Equitix Consortium: comprising Equitix and Strabag.

The company is pioneering the new Direct Procurement for Customers approach for HARP, under which it will appoint a CAP to design, build, finance and maintain the replacement of six tunnels sections (approximately 50km) of the Haweswater Aqueduct.

It will identify a preferred bidder from the three shortlisted candidates at the next stage of the process.
