United Utilities has appointed Arqiva to a £250m smart metering framework to run until 2030 with an option to extend it for five years.
The framework covers the water company’s project to deliver more than a million smart meters in the North West before 2030. As part of the project, United Utilities plans to exchange all meters for business customers.
Arqiva will be responsible for sourcing, installing and commissioning the smart water meters and associated devices, as well as establishing and maintaining the management of the data communications network infrastructure.
