Thames awards consultancy frameworks as chair steps down from Kemble

by Karma Loveday

Thames Water has awarded framework agreements to multiple providers for the provision of consultancy services, across four lots:

Lot 1 – Strategy and operational model: regulatory advice, operational planning, long term strategy.

Lot 2 – Performance improvement: process reviews, change and transformation, customer experience and continuous improvement.

Lot 3 – Project management: end-to-end management of defined activities, training (across business support services and functions, with capital/ construction excluded).

Lot 4 – Digital consultancy services: IT cost and service management, and IT contracts, benchmarking and analysis.

Among companies winning Thames’ business were: Arcadis, Baringa Partners, CGI, Curzon & Company, Economic Insight, Ernst & Young, Frontier Economics, IBM, Jacobs, KPMG, PA Consulting, and Turner & Townsend. The agreements are for an initial five years, with options to extend annually up to a maximum overall term of eight years.

• The financial press last week reported that Thames Water’s chair, Sir Adrian Montague, has resigned as chair and director of Kemble Water Holdings, Thames’ holding company. According to an update to markets cited in the reports, the resignation also applied to all Kemble subsidiaries except the core Thames business, where Sir Adrian will continue to serve as chair and director. The update reportedly explained: “This is a personal decision as Sir Adrian believes the time is right solely to focus on fully supporting the board and executive team of TWUL on delivering the refocused turnaround plan in order to better meet our customers’ needs.”
