Supplier claims world first in net zero plan validation

Pump technology firm, Grundfos, has claimed a water solutions sector world first in achieving full validation of its 2050 net-zero target from the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Group president and chief executive of Grundfos, Poul Due Jensen, said validation was “the most significant long-term climate commitment in our sustainability journey.”

The SBTi also approved Grundfos’ near-term carbon dioxide emission reduction targets under which it commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions 25% by 2030 from a 2020 baseline year.
