Southern Water awards capital delivery contracts to eight companies
Southern Water has awarded contracts to eight companies across two new capital delivery frameworks: the 'Strategic Delivery Partner' framework and the 'Infrastructure Low Complexity Delivery Route' framework.
The water company said those in the Strategic Delivery group will be responsible for major infrastructure projects including constructing new pipelines and pumping stations, or non-infrastructure schemes like upgrades to our water supply works or wastewater treatment works.
Partners in the Low Complexity group will focus either on water or waste, and this will typically involve design and build projects.
Southern has awarded Costain and MWH Treatment (as part of the CMDP+ joint venture), Kier Integrated Services, and Galliford Try Construction places on the Strategic Delivery Partner framework for non-infrastructure above ground works. Meanwhile, Morrison Water Services has been awarded a place on the Strategic Delivery Partner framework for infrastructure works.
Separately, the Infrastructure Low-Complexity Delivery Route framework has awarded places to Clancy Docwra, United Living Infrastructure Services, and Barhale for works on the water side, and Clancy Docwra Limited, J Browne Construction and Morrison Utility Services on the wastewater side.
The total value of Southern Water’s frameworks is some £3.7bn over the initial contract term, which is seven years for the Strategic Delivery Partner framework and five years for the Low Complexity Delivery Route framework. Both have options to extend.
