South West Water helps in hunt for leaking loos

South West Water has extended into Devon, a scheme established in February in Cornwall to help households to find and fix leaking toilets.

Under the scheme, the water company offers up to £150 towards the repair of leaking toilets. It estimated that it has sent leaky loo detection strips to some 550,000 customers across Cornwall and parts of Devon. Once a household has arranged for its toilet to be repaired, South West Water will reimburse up to £150 of that cost.

South West water quoted figures from water efficiency advocate Waterwise showing that one in 20 household toilets have leaks that waste up to 400l a day totalling 16.5Ml in the South West.
