South West Water extends hosepipe ban

On Tuesday, South West Water will extend the Temporary Use Ban, already in place in Cornwall and parts of North Devon, to its Roadford supply area, also in Devon.

The area remains in drought under the Environment Agency classification and the company said supplies need to be protected following lower than average rainfall. Reservoir levels fell to their lowest recorded level last year and storage at Roadford Lake is currently around 27% lower than it was at the same time in 2022.
