South Staffordshire Group appoints new chief

Parent company of South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water, South Staffordshire Group, has appointed Charley Maher as its new chief executive officer.

Maher (pictured) joins from the YTL Group where she held a number of positions across its companies including chief commercial officer at Wessex Water Group; managing director of water retailer water2business and customer billing company Pelican Business Services; as well as non-executive director positions at renewable energy business GENeco and lifecycle construction and operations business Turnbull.

Maher said: “I’m looking forward to building on previous progress, and I’m excited to work with the team to build a safe and great place to work, deliver excellent experiences for customers and clients, and make a positive contribution to our communities and the environment.”

She will replace former chief, Phil Newland, following his decision to step down from his role at South Staffordshire earlier in the year.
