South Staffordshire appoints Elena Karpathakis as water business MD

Elena Karpathakis will take up post at the end of March as managing director of South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water.

She joins from British Gas, where she held the post of vice president – field services director, leading the national field engineering unit.

She has 20 years’ leadership experience in regulated and safety critical industries, including at Openreach and BT.

South Staffordshire shared that Karpathakis specialises in service and operational transformation, and has a keen focus on customer experience, employee engagement and a robust safety culture.

She will lead the delivery of the 2025-2030 programme, the company’s largest investment to date.
