Severn Trent tops sector in Most Admired Company survey

Severn Trent Water won the water utilities sector award in the 2022 Britain’s most admired companies survey. And Arup topped the business support services sector.

The top three most admired firms across the board were financial firm, Legal & General, recruitment agency, Page Group and sports equipment retailer, JD Sports. Chief executive of fashion retailer, Next, Lord Simon Wolfson won the most admired leader title for the second time in three years.

The awards, now in their 33rd year, are run by corporate and brand reputation consultancy, Echo Research, in partnership with Coventry University. Echo claimed the survey is “the longest-running independent survey of its kind on corporate reputation in the UK.”

According to Echo, the survey covers a list of the top companies in each of 28 industrial and commercial sectors based on “several factors including market capitalisation and the number of UK employees.” Echo advises that no company can pay to be on the list, nor can it be removed. Winners if each category must pay for a licence to use the winner’s logo.
