Severn Trent gets first Green Recovery smart meter installed
Severn Trent has installed the first meter in its £20m Coventry and Warwickshire smart meter project, funded as part of the Green Recovery.
The company is installing 150,000 smart water meters by 2025 to create a smart water data region. This will help it to understand water usage better than ever before, find and fix leaks faster and deliver water saving benefits for communities and the environment.
Severn Trent is investing £566m between now and 2025 on Green Recovery projects – including the creation of bathing-quality stretches of river, improving 500km of river five years earlier than planned, increasing water supplies, alleviating flooding using nature-based solutions, replacing old lead pipes and installing smart meters to save water and customers money.
