Scottish Water has reported good progress against delivering its £500m Improving Urban Waters Routemap, to improve wastewater performance.

The installation of 232 intelligent network sensors in four high priority areas have averted 26 floods and nine environmental pollutions. Meanwhile 25 blockages were intercepted before they caused any impact.

Scottish Water has also installed 800 of the 1,000 Event Duration Monitors planned this year for key storm overflows locations, with 1,500 more to follow by early 2025.
