Scottish Water is shortly to launch an online map of its storm discharges.
The news came as the company marked the milestone of installing its 1,000th sewer monitor, under its £500m wastewater investment programme.
The interactive map will provide information on when an overflow is operating and where recent activity has occurred, as well as how overflows are ranked in terms of investment priority and whether investment is planned. Users will be able to search using a postcode, local authority area or a waterbody.
This follows the launch of a national storm overflow data hub providing spill information for England.
