Scottish Water teams up with Israeli wastewater analysis firm to boost public health

Wastewater analysis provider, Kando, has launched a new partnership with Scottish Water to bolster its ability to “harness wastewater for the benefit of community and public health.”

Under the partnership, Kando will install its wastewater management technology in hundreds of assets, equipping the water firm with a real-time alert system. Kando uses internet of things, original algorithms and artificial intelligence to provide insight and control over wastewater networks to utilities and municipalities (see THE WATER REPORT July 2022 issue).

  • Kando has appointed public health professional, Dr. Andrew Engeli, as its vice president, community health strategy and services. Engeli was previously deputy director for innovation at the Joint Biosecurity Centre deputy director for educational mental health practices at the UK Health Security Agency.
