Scottish water research promotion partnership appoints new chair

by Trevor Loveday

The partnership of Scottish Water and the Scottish Funding Council, Scotland Hydro Nation, has appointed the University of Stirling’s Professor of Environmental Science Andrew Tyler, as chair.

Tyler will lead a £3.5 million initiative that seeks to position Scotland as a global leader in water research.

Scottish Hydro Nation will act as “a catalyst for academic research and innovation” through the creation of "collaborative partnerships across the sector, to deliver solutions for sustainable water management in Scotland."

Tyler is currently leading Stirling University’s multi-million-pound partnership with BT Group, the Forth Environmental Resilience Array project to capture, process and share environmental data from across Forth Valley using EE’s 5G network.
