Scottish Water chief, Douglas Millican, to stand down
Scottish Water’s chief executive of ten years, Douglas Millican, has announced he plans to stand down from the post next year.
Millican (pictured) said leaving next year would enable a new chief executive to lead the company through the extensive preparation needed for the next regulatory period starting in 2027. He will stay on while a successor is appointed to enable a smooth transition and handover.
Millican has led Scottish Water since 2012. Before that was finance and regulation director. During his tenure, Scottish Water has been transformed to become one of the highest performing water companies in the UK.
