Savings continue for Scottish public sector
by Karma Loveday
Business Stream has said it saved the Scottish public sector £2.4m in 2023-24 through water efficiency savings, from services including leak detection and smart monitoring.
This takes its four-year savings yield for organisations including the National Health Service, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Police Scotland and the Scottish Government to £8.9m. Business Stream added that in that period, the public sector has saved 5.6m cubic metres of water and reduced its energy consumption by 2,371,941kg CO2e.
This latest round of savings comes after Business Stream secured the Scottish Government’s Water and Waste Water Services Framework contract, worth in excess of £240m, for a further three years in March 2024.
