by Trevor Loveday

RSK Group has acquired water sector training provider, Watertrain.

Founded in 2007, Warrington-based Watertrain has two thirds of the market share with England based water companies according to RSK.

Since 2016 RSK has acquired some 50 businesses and started seven new ones.

Watertrain helps water sector employers to find “effective solutions to immediate training needs and longer-term staff development through apprenticeship programmes, competency qualifications and bespoke training.”

RSK chief executive officer and founder, Alan Ryder, said: “With the support of [recent acquisitions] Binnies, Water Research Centre (WRc) and MWH Treatment, we are looking forward to widening the training provision that Watertrain can provide.” Watertrain managing director Keri Davies said: “I am looking forward to building strong partnerships within the RSK group.”
