Regulators secure grant to set up one-stop-shop for innovation

The Drinking Water Inspectorate has secured £170,000 to create a one-stop-shop with Ofwat and the Environment Agency to make it easier for innovators to obtain advice on navigating regulatory barriers in the water industry.

The project will involve all three regulators working together to provide a service to make it easier for businesses and innovators to obtain informal regulatory advice and help support innovation that delivers benefits to customers and the environment.

This project was one of 21 to secure a funding grant from the £3.7m Regulators' Pioneer Fund, launched by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The fund supports projects led by regulators and local authorities that help the country’s regulatory environment to keep pace with technological advances of the future.
