RAPID confirms a dozen strategic resource schemes to proceed

Ofwat has given the final go-ahead for 12 strategic water resource schemes to progress through gate two of the staggered process being overseen by the Regulators’ Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID).

This will enable the schemes – water transfers, water recycling solutions and three new reservoirs – to continue to receive funding to progress to the next stage of investigation.

Decisions are awaited on 28 July for two further schemes – the Cheddar 2 reservoir and the Poole Effluent Recycling projects – which were postponed following delays to South West Water’s Water Resource Management Plans.
