Pre tax earnings tumble into loss at South East Water

South East Water reported a loss before tax of £74.24m for the year to 31 March 2023 from a pre tax profit in the previous year of £16.97m.

Operating profit was down 51% from the previous year to £41.3m reflecting a 24% year-on-year hike in operating costs to £228.41m taking with revenue near flat at £257.48m. Financial income put on £1.2m in the report year but financial costs jumped £50m to £117.46m
