WaterAid International has appointed two new independent members to its board. Professor Sheila Tlou is a global health leader and former health minister for Botswana. Claudia Sadoff is a development practitioner and former global lead of World Bank’s Water Security programme. They both took up post on 1 September.
Wessex Water has appointed global technology company Honeywell to deliver smart meters and the accompanying smart technology and communication systems that will provide consumption data for each customer. The contract will run for up to 15 years. Wessex aims to install smart meters across 40% of its region by 2030, with the rest following by 2035.
Pelican Business Services – the company that manages all of Bristol Water’s and Wessex Water’s metering, billing and collection operations and customer enquiries – has contracted with South Staffordshire Group’s Echo Managed Services to use its Aptumo software for its entire operation. This will be deployed to enhance customer experience, streamline billing processes, and support digital transformation initiatives.
