The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is to publish a base cost modelling working paper for consultation mid month. In an update to the administrative timetable for the PR24 appeals, the CMA said responses would be welcomed until early January. The statutory deadline for final decisions is 17 March 2026.
New Appointment and Variation (NAV) Icosa Water has rebranded to Last Mile Water, to reflect its integration into the multi-utility Last Mile group. Last Mile Water is the second largest NAV, serving 47,000 homes across 386 sites.
Costain has appointed Peter Mumford as managing director for its natural resources division.
Anglian Water has hit a milestone in its smart metering programme, with over 1.3m smart meters now connected and working, marking the largest smart meter rollout of any UK water company. Nearly 60% of customers have access to consumption data and the water company’s leak alert service. 600,000 customer leaks have been identified since 2021, saving customers on average 14.75 litres per household per day, reducing bills by an average of £25.
