One Business Water seeks retail licence with eye on multi-utility provision

Leicester-based One Business Water has applied for a retail water supply and sewerage licence, to sell services in the non-household market.

In its application consultation, open until 20 March, Ofwat summarised One Business Water’s business plan as follows: “One Business Water will provide water services and there is the intention to create another group company to provide telecoms solutions to businesses. By offering power, gas, water and telecoms solutions to businesses the strategic plan is to become a one stop solution for business utilities.

“One Business Water will offer water and sewage retail services in England and Scotland and water retail services in Wales. One Business Water aims to provide an efficient and reliable retail service that is competitively priced when compared to the incumbent suppliers.”
