Ofwat appoints new director

Ofwat has appointed Helen Campbell to the Ofwat board as senior director for sector performance. The appointment has been approved by the environment secretary.

Campbell (pictured) will lead on “improving water company performance and corporate behaviour, as well as driving innovation across the sector.”

Campbell joins Ofwat from the Infrastructure Projects Authority where she has been director of strategy, performance and assurance since 2021. She will fill the vacancy currently held in the interim by Andrew Chesworth.

She has worked previously in director roles at the National Grid over a 13-year tenure, latterly as director of strategy, performance and assurance in National Grid Gas Transmission. Prior to that, she held positions in consulting, financial services, and energy companies.
