Ofwat appoints its first head of Wales

Ofwat has appointed Bethan Evans as its first head of Wales – establishing a permanent presence in Wales for the first time.

Evans (pictured), is a Welsh speaker with a strong understanding of regulation in Wales. She joins from KPMG where she is an associate director in the infrastructure advisory practice.

The regulator said that from 1 September, Evans will play an important role in ensuring that Ofwat is participating in Welsh policy discussions and will focus on making the best use of the expertise of Welsh stakeholders to facilitate a regulatory approach that reflects specific circumstances in Wales.
