Northumbrian Water listed among top businesses for ethics

Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) is one of two UK companies, and the only water and sewerage company to be named in the Ethisphere Institute’s latest annual, global listing of companies on their ethics demonstrated through their behaviour and performance.

Ethisphere’s 2023 list comprises 135 companies of which nine are utilities.They come from 19 countries and 46 industries. This year is NWG’s twelfth appearance on the list which has been running since 2007. The companies are listed alphabetically, not ranked.

The institute, said it evaluates companies “on their commitment to integrity, transparency, and corporate social responsibility.” It says companies on the list “have demonstrated exemplary behaviour and performance in areas such as environmental sustainability, governance, and social responsibility.“

Participants pay a $3,500 fee to be considered for the listing. Those listed are required to pay further fees to use the Ethisphere branding during their year on the list.
