No new protections needed from owner changes at Southern and Albion

Ofwat is consulting on its provisional decisions not to require any new protections to be added into the the licences of two companies which have recently changed hands:

• Southern Water – Macquarie Supercore Infrastructure Fund completed the transaction to buy a majority stake in Southern Water parent Greensands Holdings in September 2021; and

• Albion Water – a New Appointment and Variation sold by Wessex Water in mid March 2022 to Albion Water Holdings, with SDS Holdings owner Patrick Cullen as sole shareholder.
