MOSL renews with CGI for core platform management

by Karma Loveday

MOSL has reappointed CGI to continue managing the non-household retail market’s core platforms, under an £11.5m deal. This includes the now cloud-based Central Market Operating System which facilitates switching and settlement, and the newer Bilaterals Hub through which operational transactions between retailers and wholesalers take place.

Simon Powell, chief information officer at MOSL, cited reliability, efficiency and innovation as benefits of the arrangement, adding: “Partnering with CGI we will continue to deliver a well-functioning market whilst developing the capabilities for the future.” Implementing new capabilities to support the growth of smart meters will be a key area.

Paul Buxton, vice-president of utilities for CGI in the UK, said: “The extended contract will enable CGI to support MOSL’s ambitious plans for improvements across the water sector, while continuing to provide a stable platform which enables the non-household water market to run in the most efficient and frictionless way possible.”
