Industry trio calls in hackers to probe water consumption behaviour
Three water companies have joined together to invite water industry data hackers to probe customer behaviour relating to water consumption.
Anglian Water, SES and Welsh Water are planning to host a two-week hackathon where “some of the brightest minds from across the industry” can help them to work out how they can “more efficiently and accurately manage demand for water.”
Head of innovation engagement at Anglian Water, Shaunna Berensden, said, "The collective groups will be able to untap hidden insights and fresh perspective and look at new ways we can address what is the biggest challenge the water industry faces".
The topics to be covered over the period, 24 August – 4 September are:
improving how we calculate water balance;
predicting consumption hotspots;
helping customers save water and money; and
identifying customer side leakage
