The Retained EU Law Bill is due to return to the House of Commons today following last Tuesday's peers' amendments to the bill to ensure laws to protect the environment are safeguarded and Parliamentary scrutiny is strengthened.
Campaign groups including the RSPB have since been rallying their supporters to email their MPs calling for them to vote for Lord Krebs’ amendment 15b, to guarantee nature protections won’t be weakened.
When the Bill was last in the Commons, MPs rejected amendments made by peers that would have guaranteed nature protection laws would not be weakened.
Meanwhile last week, the Scottish Parliament once again voted to withhold its consent for the Bill.
