Government reappoints its science advisors

The secretary of state has confirmed the reappointment of four members to the Science Advisory Council for a second term of three years.

They are professors:

• Lisa Collins

• Nicholas Hanley

• Susan Owens

• Richard Bardgett.

They have been reappointed for a further three-year term taking effect on 6 July 2024 and expiring on 5 July 2027.

There is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if significant) to be declared. All candidates declared that they have not taken part in any significant political activity in the past five years.
