Government considers water performance rating for large users
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is considering including water in a potential new scheme to rate commercial and industrial buildings according to their energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Part of its consultation on introducing a national performance based framework for assessing energy and carbon emissions in commercial and industrial buildings above 1,000m2 in England and Wales seeks view on expanding the rating system to cover water as well as waste and indoor air quality. Respondents are asked in particular for thoughts on the benefits and drawbacks of the expansion.
The consultation is open until 9 June.
