Everflow pilot produces savings on water, energy and carbon

The average business that participated in a pilot programme run by Everflow saved 17% of the water they used, 20% (£3,360) on their water bills, 27MWh of energy and 6 tonnes of CO₂e over a year, the retailer has reported.

Twenty-four small to medium sized enterprises from industries including hospitality, education, leisure, community, tourism and residential care took part in Everflow’s EcoMOT service. Participants completed a pre-questionnaire about their water and energy use, enabling Everflow technicians to come to site prepared and able to install water-saving devices in one visit. Customers also received an energy report with costed recommendations. Customers pay for the service, to bolster their buy-in.

Across all businesses, £84,000 of savings were unlocked, water usage was reduced by 25 megalitres, 646MWh of energy was saved and 132 tonnes of CO₂e avoided.

Everflow now plans to expand the programme to target a broader range of SMEs, and is exploring the integration of waste reduction and sustainable broadband and telephone services into the offering.
