Environment secretary gets advisors on customers and legislation

Defra has appointed Will Harris and Sir Roy Stone as advisors to the environment secretary.


Harris will support, advise and challenge the department on its customer focus and how it delivers for customers while Stone will focus on the department’s legislative programme.


Founding executive at marketing consultancy Bridge F61, Harris is a non-executive director at the Department of Health and Social Care. His previous experience includes chief marketing officer roles at luxury brand conglomerate, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, electronic firm, Nokia and Battersea Power Station, and chief strategy and marketing Officer for taxi services business, Karhoo. 


Stone is a non-executive director at the Department of Health and Social Care and a visiting professor at the University of Lincoln. Previous posts include senior parliamentary and legislative advisor to the chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster; former No10 chief of staff and a parliamentary clerk for prime ministers Margaret Thatcher, John Major and Tony Blair.
