London Mayor unveils £10m funding to improve infrastructure coordination

by Karma Loveday

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has announced £10m more funding to cut road disruption for London businesses and residents by improving the coordination of infrastructure works.

The money will go to the Mayor’s Infrastructure Coordination Service, a collaboration between City Hall, Transport for London (TfL) and utility and telecoms companies, which coordinates roadworks to cut delays. This includes long-term infrastructure planning and works to resolve infrastructure challenges impacting developers.

According to the Mayor’s office, since its launch in 2019, the service has saved London’s road users 1,254 days of roadworks on top of more than 7,500 days saved annually through TfL and the London boroughs’ regular coordination.
