Eighth annual Northumbrian Innovation Festival seeks speed and scale

Northumbrian Water’s eighth annual Innovation Festival took place last week, at Newcastle Racecourse.

The festival seeks to tackle a selection of business challenges and issues facing the water industry, as well as look at wider global issues that impact everyone, like climate change and water poverty. It brings together people from all over the globe with different skills and knowledge to work together to produce solutions and viable outcomes – in five days or less.

This year’s theme was ‘Speed and Scale,’ with the focus on growing good ideas at pace and progressing ideas from previous festivals. A Young Citizens Work Experience Festival – aimed at introducing 14-18 year-olds from local schools into the world of work – ran alongside the main event this year.

Details of all the sprints, dashes, workshops and activities can be found here: https://www.innovationfestival.org/the-festival/
